Who could use one of these reminders today? (or in my case, every day!) 🙋‍♀️

Yoga is so much more than the physical poses.🧘‍♀️ And while they do feel great in my body, I often find that my mind benefits most from taking a class. My favorite teachers have incorporated simple yet powerful life lessons as we flow through the movement. Learning how to breathe through intense discomfort (hello, pigeon pose! 😯) has served me so well in stressful and uncomfortable situations in my life (like work, childbirth, and toddler meltdowns).

Today’s reminder is especially timely given it’s December 🎊— those days when we find ourselves too busy are exactly the times we need to make the time to find stillness. It benefits not only us, but everyone around us. Have you found your stillness today? 💜

✨Network Chiropractic✨

This modality has had the greatest impact on my life over the past 4 years. It’s a gentle touch form of chiropractic that teaches our nervous system how to release tension, making our bodies more adaptable to processing stress.

At times I’ve described it as “body-based life coaching” because our bodies hold tension in specific patterns—so what’s happening in our lives is reflected in our spines. I’ve gone in for appointments and without saying a word about what was going on in my life that week, my chiropractor was able to tell me based on the tension patters they saw as I lay on the table. I’ve noticed that the more flexible I’ve become at adapting to the roller coaster of life, the less pain and discomfort I hold in my body.

This type of work has supported me throughout all types of change in my life. My son has been adjusted since he was in the womb and now that’s he older, he’s learning how to participate in his own health care. It’s really cool to watch—he was so excited to jump on the table in this picture! Farm to table! 🙌🏻 I love that you can pick your own at the farm in my town. It’s cool to see where food actually comes from and a fun way to spend a weekend morning.

And to make the most of our finds, I used lemon essential oil as a non-toxic fruit and veggie wash, and melaleuca essential oil to extend the life of the flowers. Both are antiseptic and antibacterial and ones we use often and in many ways in our house.

🍋Lemon goes in my water every day to support my body’s detoxification, and removes all the sticky stains my toddler leaves everywhere.
•
🌱Melaleuca is great for cuts, colds, pimples, sore throats, and dandruff among other things. And as the oil of energetic boundaries, it’s super helpful for sensitive people like me in protecting their space.

Our lives are powered by so many different technologies and electronics, and while they all can be amazingly helpful, the invisible impact they leave on our environments is something we often don’t think about.

I’ve always been sensitive to energies and when I started investigating why I was feeling really yucky in my own home, I learned about EMFs and what I could do to counteract the impact they had on me. (Because I wasn’t going to throw my router, TV, computer, phone, and microwave in the trash!)

Orgonite is something I’ve found to be really helpful. I got this beauty 3 years ago from @theorgonizedearth and it’s been a permanent fixture in my house ever since. When I put it under my bed, I have really vivid dreams, and when I keep it in my office or living room, I really feel how it neutralizes the EMFs in the room.

Orgonite is made of resin, metal shavings, and various crystals (depending on who makes it) and this combo of material has the ability to transmute negative energy of all kinds - not just EMFs. And they’re really cool to look at.

We all know how important quality sleep is, but most people have some issue actually getting a solid 8 hours. From tossing and turning, to endless mental chatter, to waking up to have to pee, sleep can be frustrating. What I love about using essential oils for sleep support is that there are so many different ways to get the specific support that we each need, that often changes over time.

It’s commonly known that lavender is relaxing and helpful in promoting a good nights sleep, but did you know that lavender can actually have the opposite effect on some people? Just like different people tolerate foods in different ways, essential oils can have different impacts.

We’ve tried a lot of sleep combos in my house - our toddler would much prefer to play all night long instead of get into bed 😂 And lavender had zero effect on him. There are so many other options to try, so don’t give up if the first thing you try doesn’t work for you.

These oils are in constant rotation in our house:

Juniper Berry: for anyone who has nightmares, this oil is for you. Using this has allowed me to have more restful and deep sleep as I no longer wake up with a racing heart from processing unresolved fears and other issues. It's also part of the diffuser blend in my toddler's room and has significantly decreased the times he wakes up crying for mama in the middle of the night.

Peace: it's called the reassuring blend for a reason! This combo of floral and mint oils immediately soothes anxious feelings and promotes a calming environment. Equally great for toddler tantrums and relaxing parents when they finally have a minute to themselves at the end of the day.

Vetiver: a natural tranquilizer, this oil really helps ground energy—whether it's slowing down a toddler who wants to run laps around his room, or quieting the mental chatter from your day, this one really helps you feel rooted.
